Visitor Experience Operative
An amazing job opportunity has arisen to work in our new Visitor Centre, on Benbecula in the beautiful Outer Hebrides. Benbecula Distillery opened in 2024, the first ever legal distillery in the history of the Island. This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to start a career in whisky, and be part of a dynamic team, creating a sensational experience for visitors to Benbecula Distillery.
Role Details
You will be responsible for bringing to life the stories and craft of the distillery visitor centre with passion and enthusiasm – giving visitors an immersive and engaging experience at the distillery.
This role requires you to provide first class customer service. From warmly greeting visitors, to hosting tours, and working within retail as a product expert, you will also be involved in the preparation and serving of food and drink in the bar and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained throughout the visitor centre.
With events throughout the year, you will be a part of the planning and execution, building relationships with customers and working in an incredible industry full of pride and passion.

- Any relevant experience is a bonus

Food Service Operative

Role Details
You will be part of the team that delivers the entire culinary experience at the new Visitor Centre at Benbecula Distillery. We are in search of enthusiastic staff members with a positive and approachable manner who enjoy the fast pace of working in a busy kitchen. We are looking for someone with basic understanding of kitchen operation, a passion for food and willingness to learn. You will be working under close supervision and all training will be provided on the job.
Ideal Qualifications
- Basic cookery skills and a working knowledge of fundamental culinary terms and kitchen equipment
- Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborating with kitchen staff, front-of-house teams, and management
- A solid understanding of safe food handling practices, food rotation, and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment
- Being friendly and approachable, you will build positive relationships with both customers and colleagues
- Quality-driven and detail-orientated
- Flexible and have good time management skills
