Eat

Our café is open and serves sweet treats, tea & coffee. Due to staff shortages, we are serving our limited menu, but we are hoping to return to a full lunch selection in the coming weeks.

No bookings required for groups of 5 or less. For larger groups, please contact catering@benbeculadistillery.com.

Learn

Our visitor centre is curated to showcase local artists and express the essence of the Outer Hebrides. From maritime influence to crofting history, a lot can be learned from the current exhibit about the land we call home.

Tour

Tours are held Monday through Friday at 11:00 and 14:00. Discover how we produce our Hebridean spirit and taste a few drams. Email tours@benbeculadistillery.com to book, or simply drop in.

Tour Benbecula Distillery

Tour Overview 

Join us for a fascinating guided tour exploring the heart of our distillery. Discover the art and science behind whisky and spirits production, enjoy exclusive access to key areas (take a picture in our lighthouse!), and taste some of our signature spirits. 

What to Expect 

  • Welcome and introduction to our artworks and collections at the visitor centre 
  • A tour through the production hall covering whisky and gin production 
  • Photo opportunities in the lighthouse
  • Learn about the people behind our distillery, and the stories that craft our unique space
  • Taste our new make spirit in our tasting room, in addition to our MacMillan Spirits range, including Wheelhouse Whisky, Machair Gin, and Molucca Rum in the visitor centre 

Group Size

Tours accommodate up to 12 guests for the best experience. For larger groups, please contact us directly at tours@benbeculadistillery.com.

Children (8+): £10

Important Information 

  • Production does not run on Wednesday and Friday
  • Suitable for children aged 8 and over 
  • No pets allowed (including service animals, due to mezzanine floor restrictions). Pets are welcome in our visitor centre and cafe 
  • Wheelchairs and mobility scooters must have tyres thicker than 2.25 inches to access the mezzanine floor 
  • Walking sticks are not suitable on the mezzanine; linking arms with a companion is suggested 
  • A lift is available for accessibility
