Much like our whisky, a Wheelhouse is complex and layered. These rare Iron Age structures, largely found in the rugged Outer Hebrides landscape, are circular drystone buildings, segmented like oranges by interior walls. Wheelhouses offer a glimpse into the lives of our Island ancestors, proving that with the right foundation, lasting legacy can be built.
Wheelhouse Cask No 4 — Prophecy
The Machair is a strip of low-lying fertile land that is cultivated and grazed by cattle and sheep belonging to the Hebridean crofter. It’s an entirely unique habitat that clings to our coastline and comes to full bloom in the summer months, turning the machair into a kaleidoscope of beautiful and rare flowers.
We have chosen, and picked with care, the abundant Wild Angelica Root from the machair to accompany island heathers in our gin recipe.
A herbaceous, aromatic gin, bottled unfiltered at 46% for an oilier texture. Sip neat or lengthen with your favourite tonic.
Our rum started its life in the Caribbean and landed here in the Hebrides.
Molucca Beans, or Sea Hearts, also make the huge journeys across the ocean on the Gulf Stream from the Caribbean. They land on our Hebridean beaches, hidden in the sand and in tangled seaweed. Smooth, shiny seeds the size of your palm – like a heart-shaped pebble but light as a husk.
A blend of Guyanese and Dominican rums, this complex 8 year old has a high percentage of rhum agricole, rum made with fresh sugar cane instead of molasses, which gives a vibrant, grassy character. Blended to our founder’s specification, the golden rum can be sipped neat or over a cube of ice. Rich, warming, and layered. You can taste the heart behind every sip.
